🆘 Slime SOS — Fix Any Slime Disaster!
Slime gone wrong? Don't panic — almost every slime problem is fixable! Here are the most common slime emergencies and exactly how to solve them.
-
😰 My slime is too sticky!
Add activator solution (borax + warm water) a few drops at a time, kneading well between each addition. Or pop it in the fridge for 15 mins first — cold slime is much easier to activate! Warm, sweaty hands? Run them under cold water before playing.
-
😤 My slime is too hard!
It's been over-activated! Add a few drops of lotion or glycerin and knead slowly until it softens. For clear slimes, add a tiny drop of warm water. Be patient — work it slowly and it'll come back to life.
-
😳 Slime in hair!
Do not pull! Gently work conditioner or vegetable oil or white vinegar into the slime and carefully comb through. The oils break down the slime's polymer bonds. Then wash hair as normal. Top tip: Tie hair back before playing with slime!
-
😬 Slime on carpet / furniture!
Act fast! Scrape off as much as possible immediately. Then mix 2 parts white vinegar with 1 part water, spray onto the spot, leave for 10 mins, then scrub gently with a brush. Vacuum when dry. Do NOT rub — that makes it worse!

😱 My slime is melting / watery!
This usually means it needs activating. Add borax solution drop by drop and knead. In Queensland's heat, always store slime in the fridge in summer. If it's too far gone, it's time for a fresh slime from Slime Mania! 😄

👃 My slime has lost its scent!
Fragrances naturally fade over time — especially with regular play. You can revive the scent with a tiny drop of fragrance oil or vanilla essence (slime-safe only!). Mix it in thoroughly. Or visit our DIY bar to make a freshly scented batch!
